Lifeguards and Swim Instructors. Part-time positions are available for indoor lifeguards and swimming instructors. Hours are Monday through Friday 4-9 PM. Applicants must possess previous swimming experience and Lifeguard Certification, with Water Safety Instructor Certification a plus. The American Red Cross Learn to  Swim program will be featured. Position:              Recreational Program Leader

Salary:                   Minimum Wage and up, based on qualifications (Part-time Position)

Qualifications:   Candidates must be at least 18 years or older.  He/She must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to provide own transportation.  Willing to submit to and pass a background check.

Duties:   Looking for candidates who are self-motivated and creative to plan and instruct a variety of classes for some or any of the following: Early Childhood, Youth or Adults, as well as working/leading special events and parties. 

  • Class times can vary during the week and on Saturdays.
  • 4-week sessions
  • One day classes
  • Special Days (i.e. Cinco De Mayo, Chinese New Year, Star Wars Day)

Recreation Program Supervisor

 Under the leadership of the Superintendent of Recreation, the Recreation Program Supervisor is charged with leading the operations of a variety of youth, teen and adult programs including athletics and swimming and assisting with special events.  This position leads a team of part-time staff and volunteers.  This position is part-time at 30 hours per week with the potential to move to full time.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Expected Hours of Work:

As a supervisor, this team member will be actively engaged with their programs throughout multiple facilities, fields, and parks to ensure all aspects of programming are meeting expectations. Will be active in the community with special events and given the nature of programming nights and weekends would be necessary at times. This position will begin as a part- time 30 hours per week position with the possibility of moving towards a full-time opportunity with benefits.

 Preferred Education and Experience:

Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Recreation, Education, Physical Education or Sports Management. Preferences will be given to those holding a Bachelor’s Degree in the above mention fields, Lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor Certification and experience in program supervision and management.

Building Custodian
JOB SUMMARY – This position is responsible for performing the general and daily cleaning and light maintenance activities which include 2 recreation buildings and 2 outdoor bathroom/concession stands.  The Custodian will also maintain inventories, setup rooms for class activities, among other duties associated with keeping the buildings clean and safe for operation.  The Custodian needs to be self-motivated, organized, and communicate effectively.  This position  reports to the Superintendent of Parks.

QUALIFICATIONS – High School diploma or equivalent.

 EXPERIENCE – 2 years experience in custodial maintenance activities or a related field.  Knowledge of
 carpentry, electrical, and plumbing preferred.
  Must be organized and efficient and be capable of working
 independently.

Customer Service, Building Attendant

Salary:      $9 and up, based on qualifications (Part-time Position)

This position will require an individual to perform operations of the front desk including phones, registration,

 and computer work.   Ability to follow written and oral instructions, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability
 to maintain positive and effective working relationships with the public required.  Ability to work with
 minimum supervision to solve problems comprehensively and observe and ensure compliance with park
 rules when necessary.  Work is primarily evening and weekends.
