The Crete Park District “Volunteer of the Year” award recognizes outstanding contributions by individuals, groups, or organizations that have significantly improved the lives of community members through their dedication and service. The recipient(s) should demonstrate a commitment to making a positive difference, fostering inclusivity, addressing local needs effectively, and a willingness to serve others selflessly. Their commitment to supporting their community inspires and motivates those around them, embodying the spirit of volunteerism.
Eligibility
Volunteered between August 1, 2023 through July 31, 2024
contributed talents, energy, and skills to help events and/or organizations in the community
Volunteerism must have taken place on personal time
Volunteer hours can be for anywhere throughout the community and does not have to be Crete Park District specific
Be a role model to the community and inspire others to engage in volunteerism
Given time willingly and without financial gain
Selection Process
The Crete Park District Volunteer of the Year Committee, comprised of 3 park district employees, will review each application and determine the most deserving candidate or organization to be recognized for this award.

Annually
Nomination Submission Deadline
Applications must be delivered or mailed to the Crete Park District Administrative Center at 737 W. Exchange St. by September 6, 2024.
This award will be presented to the winner(s) at Acorn Fest and the recipient’s bio and photo will be added to our website. Additionally, their name will be added to the “Wall of Fame” plaque displayed at the Crete Park District Administrative Center, to honor and preserve their name and accomplishment.
